I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
